Welcome!
About me
I'm interested in applying engineering principles to solve biological problems.
I completed my Ph.D. in electrical & computer engineering at Johns Hopkins University (July 2012). My graduate work dealt with dynamical systems in biology as well as the application of information theory to study such systems. I studied in the lab of Dr. Pablo Iglesias, using mathematical modeling to understand the system that regulates the equivalent of cholesterol in yeast. We collaborated with the Espenshade Lab in the Department of Cell Biology, Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.
I'm currently a postdoctoral researcher in the Systems Biology Section of the Laboratory of Pathology at the National Cancer Institute, part of the National Institutes of Health. I study the expression dynamics of the p53 tumor suppressor protein and their effects on p53 target gene transcription during the DNA damage response in human cells.
